Dublin City Council secured second place in the European Cultural Tourism Awards for their contribution to developing the Dublin Discovery Trails platform.

The Dublin Discovery Trails app was recognised in the category of “Digitalisation advances and digital transition in Sustainable Cultural Tourism,” which focuses on smart tourism and destinations engaging with culture and heritage.

This achievement follows Dublin’s recent nomination for the European Capital of Smart Tourism award, evaluating sustainability, accessibility, digitalisation, cultural heritage, and creativity.

The Dublin Discovery Trails app, developed in collaboration with Fáilte Ireland, launched earlier this year and offers immersive experiences and an augmented reality map of Dublin.
