Orderly refunds process expected as James Villas ceases trading

James Villas, a brand with over 7,000 rental properties in Europe, announced its closure on October 30th, 2023, and is no longer accepting new bookings.

Bookings scheduled to return on or before November 30th, 2023, are unaffected, but any bookings after this date will be cancelled.

The sudden closure has disrupted many European holidays planned for the end of the year and 2024,

James Villas suggests NOVASOL, their sister company, as an alternative for future holiday bookings.

The closure decision was made by the owner, Awaze, in order to focus on the growth of their core portfolio.

Approximately 40 roles at James Villas are at risk of redundancy, and consultations are underway regarding the proposed closure of the Maidstone office.

Awaze aims to sell holiday homes, which it exclusively manages for owners, and the closure of James Villas aligns with their integration plans for a common platform.

James Villas’ core inventory represents less than 1pc of Awaze’s total supply, and efforts will be made to minimise the impact on employees, suppliers, and customers.

Rival Oliver’s Travels, with 9,000 villas and chateaux across Europe, and the Caribbean, is offering assistance in rebooking a similar holiday and providing a goodwill discount of 5pc.
