Here are the seven Irish attractions nominated for 11 awards at the World Travel awards in Dublin on December 1 2023:
- Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge – Not for the faint hearted, a summer-only bridge where visitors experience a thrilling walk across a suspended bridge with stunning coastal views in County Antrim. Nominated for world’s leading iconic tourist bridge.
- Dublin Convention Centre – Landmark building on Dublin’s quays designed by Kevin Roche opened in 2010, now building an international reputation as a state-of-the-art facility located in the vibrant capital city. Nominated for world’s leading meetings & conference centre.
- Guinness Storehouse – Ireland’s most visited tourist attraction where visitors can explore the birthplace of Guinness and learn about its brewing history in Dublin, the Gravity bar doubled in size just before the pandemic. Nominated for best tourist attraction & best beer experience.
- Jameson Distillery – A redesigned visitor centre opened at Bow Street in 2017 where visitors can discover the art of whiskey-making and indulge in tastings at the iconic Jameson distillery in Dublin. Nominated for best distillery tour & best whiskey distillery tour.
- Luttrellstown House – Step into regal luxury and immerse yourself in the grandeur of the former Guinness family home, now a historic castle estate near Dublin co-owned by JP McManus and John Magnier. Victoria Adams married David Beckham got married there on 4 July 1999. Nominated for world’s leading luxury wedding resort.
- Pearse Lyons Distillery – Pearse and Deirdre Lyons opened this showcase for the world of Irish whiskey in a beautifully restored church setting on James’s St in 2017. Nominated for best distillery tour, best gin distillery tour & best whiskey distillery tour.
- Tullamore DEW Centre – Visitors can learn about the rich heritage and craftsmanship behind Tullamore DEW Irish whiskey at the centre in Tullamore, opened in 2012. Nominated for best distillery tour & best whiskey distillery tour.
