South Korea’s Asiana Airlines is extending the status of its Asiana Club frequent flyer members for an additional year.

The extension is due to travel in the Asia-Pacific region not yet fully recovering, according to an email sent by Asiana.

Asiana Club offers three status tiers (Gold, Diamond, and Platinum) that correspond to Star Alliance Silver and Gold status privileges, such as lounge access and extra baggage.

Additionally, there is potential progress in the proposed takeover of Asiana by Korean Air. The Asiana board has approved the sale of the airline’s large cargo unit as part of efforts to satisfy the European Commission, which has been opposed to the takeover.
