IPW names new host cities Fort Lauderdale 2026 & Detroit 2028

Fort Lauderdale in 2026 and Detroit in 2028 are to become first time hosts of the USA’s inbound travel trade networking event, IPW.

The event is the largest tourist board showcase event in the world devoted to a single country’s tourism product and attracts over 5,000 travel professionals and 500 media to a different host city each year.

As the largest generator of international inbound travel, each show effectively drives more than $5.5bn in future travel to the USA.

US Travel announced the forthcoming events for the next six years yesterday, to follow on from the 2024 event in Los Angeles:

  • 2024 Los Angeles May 4-8
  • 2025 Chicago, Illinois June 14-18
  • 2026 Greater Fort Lauderdale, Florida May 18-22
  • 2027 New Orleans, Louisiana May 3-7
  • 2028 Detroit, Michigan June 10-14
  • 2029 Denver, Colorado May 19-23
  • 2030 Anaheim, California June 1-5

Chicago was scheduled to host the 2021 event before the pandemic hit. 

This is the overall list of host cities, and the number of times they have hosted, after the announcement of the new venues:

  • 8 Orlando
  • 6 each Los Angeles, New York 
  • 5 each Las Vegas, New Orleans 
  • 4 each Chicago, Miami 
  • 3 each Anaheim, Denver
  • 2 each Dallas, Saint Louis, San Francisco
  • 1 each Albuquerque, Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale Nashville, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Antonio San Diego, Seattle, St Louis, Tucson, Washington DC.
