Ireland is on course to send a record 2,470,000 visitors to Spain in 2023.

Should current trends continue (and forward bookings and seat availability suggest that they will), the total will be well ahead of the total of 2,087,241 Irish who visited Spain in the whole of 2022, a figure that has already been passed.

If reach, the total will be 3.2pc of the previous record, which was 2,177,106 Irish visits to Spain in pre-pandemic 2019.

Statistics from Spain’s Instituto Nacional de Estadistica (INES) show Ireland sent 250,451 visitors to Spain in October 2023, up 15.1pc on 2022. This is up 18.7pc on the total for the first ten months of 2022, which was 2,207,446.
