Wicklow County Council is planning a temporary diversion route to reopen the Cliff Walk on the Greystones side. Compulsory purchase orders will be pursued for the preferred long-term route.
The issue of signage for an alternative route has been raised, and it will be mapped and signed according to District Manager Michael Nicholson. However, the CPO process takes time to complete.
Safety concerns have caused a section of the Greystones side to be closed off. On the Bray side, efforts are being made to address erosion and rock slides that caused another section of the Cliff Walk to be closed. Once this area is secured, a looped route will be reopened.
