Ryanair carried 181.8m passengers in 2023, 19.1pc ahead of pre pandemic and 13.3pc ahead of 2022.

Ryanair is now the largest airline in Europe when measured in passenger traffic by a margin of nearly 60m (ahead of the Lufthansa group, which is in danger of being caught by Air-France/KLM for second place), and the third largest in the world.

In December it became the largest airline in the world by market capitalisation, overtaking Delta and passing ¢30bn for the first time.
