Estonia’s Ministry of Climate is in discussions with seven potential European buyers for the state-owned airline, Nordica, aiming to reach a preliminary agreement this month.
Sister carrier Xfly is ready for sale separately or together with Nordica, while transportation lessor Transpordi Varahaldus is not included in the current sales agreement but will be sold later.
The sell-off follows a critical review from Estonia’s state auditor which recommended the companies be sold; the government will not invest further in the airline and may shut it down if not sold.
