British Airways’ Heathrow T5 First Wing security area has temporarily closed for the installation of new CT scanners.
These scanners will allow passengers to keep electronics and liquids in hand luggage, aiming to remove the 100ml liquid limit eventually.
England’s government requires major airports to upgrade from 2D to CT scanners by June 2024.
During the installation, eligible customers can use the South Fast Track Security, while First Wing check-in remains open.
The First Wing, launched in 2017 for premium passengers, offers dedicated security and direct lounge access.
