A la carte in the sky: Emirates now offers 2,200 recipes to passengers

A statement from Emirates reveals the airline provides a variety of meals using 2,200 recipes, including 6m kilograms of chicken, 350,000 kilograms of beef, and 266,000 kilograms of salmon fillets.

It takes 1400 chefs to prepare these meals at the Emirates Flight Catering Facility in Dubai and partner caterers around the world.

They use premium ingredients such as truffle, foie gras, black cod, and Canadian lobster to enhance the dishes.

Emirates also offers elevated snacks, including ice cream from Marshfield’s and yogurt from Killowen Farm, along with mixed nuts, dates, olives, and gourmet chocolates.

Emirates serves 77m passengers annually, with Dublin to Dubai flights consuming tens of thousands of dishes on Boeing 777 aircraft.

The airline caters for 490 flights daily, serving 149 meals every minute, totaling 215,000 meals per day globally.
