A United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Boston was diverted to Denver due to passengers spotting damaged parts of the plane’s wing.
Passenger Kevin Clark initially noticed the right wing coming apart and recorded a video of the damage after hearing a loud metallic vibration.
One of the pilots acknowledged the wing damage over the PA system and the plane was rerouted to Denver where it safely landed.
United Airlines reported that the Boeing 757-200 with 165 passengers aboard landed in Denver to address an issue with the slat on the wing, with passengers later flying to Boston on a different aircraft.
A written statement said: “United Flight 354 diverted to Denver Monday afternoon to address an issue with the slat on the wing of the aircraft. The flight landed safely and we arranged for another aircraft to take our customers to Boston.”
