The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the Port of Baltimore may impact cruise traffic and the city’s cruise schedule
Vessel traffic in and out of the port is suspended until further notice, affecting the operations for cruise ships including the Carnival Legend and the Vision of the Seas
Baltimore is scheduled to receive several cruise ships in April, including the Carnival Pride and the start of weekly visits from the Carnival Pride on April 21
The Cruise Maryland Terminal is also expecting additional cruise calls in 2024, including a transit call from Azamara and a short homeporting program from Norwegian Cruise Line featuring the Norwegian Sky.
The 1,6-mile-long bridge fell after being struck by a container ship at around 1:35 a.m. on Tuesday.
The vessel involved is the Singapore-flagged Dali, which operates cargo service between Baltimore and the Far East. It had lost power and issued a Mayday call prior to striking the bridge.
