Norwegian Cruise Line and Fincantieri celebrated the float out of the Norwegian Aqua from the shipyard in Marghera, Italy, marking completion of external work ahead of its April 2025 debut.

Ceremonial coins were welded into the ship as a maritime tradition symbolizing an offering for good luck and safe passage, followed by a blessing and champagne breaking ceremony.

The Norwegian Aqua, part of the Prima Class, will be 10 percent larger than previous ships in the class, offering luxurious accommodations including the line’s first Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites.

David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line said: “Fincantieri are integral to the Prima Class journey and supporting us in evolving the amazing experience we design and deliver for our guests,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “Building upon the guest-favorite features of the award-winning vessels of this class, the 10pc increase in space provides us with more flexibility to deliver more offerings and more beautifully designed venues for our guests to relax and explore on board Norwegian Aqua.”
