Stena Line has launched its Students Go Free offer, giving parents and students a way to save on journeys between home and university. With a motorist fare, the student travels free, making it easier and more affordable to get students and their belongings to university.
Research from Stena Line has found that 88pc of students expect to fill at least three-quarters of a car boot, with 21pc taking their favourite pillow, 18pc bringing a favourite mug and 11pc packing an air fryer. A coffee machine (14pc), teddy bear (14pc) and hot-water bottle (13pc) also feature on the list, while 13pc said they would love to bring their family pet. The research also found that 83pc of young people have travelled home from university because they needed clean clothes, while 84pc had travelled home because they had run out of money.
The offer is available on the Cairnryan–Belfast, Liverpool–Belfast, Holyhead–Dublin and Fishguard–Rosslare routes. Bookings must be made by 30 September 2026, with the travel period stretching to 31 January 2027. The offer also covers bringing students home for the holidays.
