Brittany Ferries is adding a third weekly return-sailing between Rosslare and Cherbourg, starting on April 29th, to boost connectivity ahead of the arrival of its rail-ferry service in 2025.

The company aims to provide more opportunities for freight operators to bypass England entirely, reducing bureaucracy and Brexit precipitated delays.

Freight volumes on France to Ireland routes have grown by 96pc and passenger traffic has increased by 412pc in the past two years.

The service will operate from Cherbourg to Rosslare on Mondays and from Rosslare to Cherbourg on Wednesdays, using the chartered ferry the Commodore Clipper.
