The European Disability Card (EDC) allows special access to public transport and facilities for people with disabilities in all EU countries.
The card provides proof of disability status and grants access to benefits such as free entry or discounted fees, priority access, personal assistance, and mobility aids.
National authorities will issue the cards with individual member states determining eligibility criteria, and they will be available in physical and digital formats.
The EDC aims to promote equal access to free movement across the EU and has been piloted in eight countries, with plans for an improved version of the EU parking card to be introduced as well.
