The Corcoran family plans to open a boutique hotel in Dublin at a Georgian building on Lower Baggot Street purchased for €3.5m last year

The property will have 30 bedrooms and include an extension of up to seven storeys

The family owns Perryville House in Kinsale and has applied for planning permission to renovate and extend the Lower Baggot Street property

Hotel investments in Dublin and across the country have gathered pace since the pandemic, with new brands entering the market. A report this week from Deloitte Crane noted there were 2,850 hotel rooms under construction at the start of this year across Dublin, Cork and Galway with 550 completed in the first quarter, while 1,080 are due for completion by the end of this year.

Hoxton opened before the end of 2023. The Ruby Hotel on Dublin’s quays recently opened and has 278 rooms. The 261-bedroom Citizen M Hotel is slated to open next year.
