Savannah Buffett, daughter of the late Jimmy Buffett, will serve as the godmother of the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, the newest ship in the Margaritaville at Sea fleet.
The christening of the Islander, scheduled for its inaugural voyage on June 14 from Port Tampa Bay, with a 4-night itinerary including a stop in Cozumel, Mexico and two days at sea, holds special significance with Savannah Buffett as godmother.
John Cohlan, CEO of Margaritaville Holdings, expressed that Jimmy Buffett would be delighted with Savannah’s role as godmother, emphasizing the sentimental value of the occasion for their close-knit partnership.
Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea, underscored the honor of having Savannah Buffett as the Islander’s godmother, noting her embodiment of the waterfront lifestyle that her father cherished and that reflects the Margaritaville brand’s essence of leisure, entertainment, and coastal living. Savannah said: “As a descendent of captains and boat builders, I accept this honour in tribute to the legacy of my seafaring ancestors. Cheers to many a lovely cruise!”
