New ships, transfers from Costa, and two P&O Australia ships will give parent cruise line Carnival a bigger share of the umbrella Carnival Corporation fleet by 2028.
CEO Josh Weinstein stated that by 2028, the Carnival brand will make up 37pc of the company’s portfolio, up from 29pc, as they reshape their portfolio to maximize Return on Invested Capital (ROIC).
The introduction of Celebration Key, a destination experience purpose-built for Carnival Cruise Line, will support growth and increase revenue while enhancing fuel efficiency due to its strategic location. Voyages to Celebration Key will begin in the second half of 2025 with 18 ships scheduled to call there in 2026.
By 2028, Carnival Cruise Line’s capacity is projected to increase by approximately 50 percent compared to 2019.
