Schiphol Airport Pier A set to open in April 2027

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport’s Pier A, a 55,000 sqm facility, is now expected to open in April 2027 after experiencing construction delays.

The project, originally announced in 2012, faced delays and termination of a contract with Ballast Nedam/TAV in 2021 due to design issues.

Dutch firm BAM is now completing the project, addressing quality defects including the need to replace fire-resistant coating on steel beams.

The total cost of Pier A has increased to €1.393 million due to repair work, delays, and a longer project duration, with the new facility offering eight gates, security filters, border control facilities, and retail and F&B outlets on three floors.
