The West Wicklow Festival is hosting a Winter Weekend programme from November 14th to 17th, 2024, featuring enchanting concerts by world-class musicians at the Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort.

The opening concert on Thursday 14th November will showcase Irish violinist Patrick Rafter and pianist Fiachra Garvey performing a captivating programme of works by Ysaÿe, Ravel, and Lekeu, celebrating the launch of their debut album.

On Friday 15th November, a mesmerising concert will feature Irish clarinettist Carol McGonnell, English violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen, and pianist Fiachra Garvey, performing a diverse programme including works by Khachaturian, Stravinsky, and Milhaud, along with a new festival commission by Eímear Noone.

The festival commission by Eímear Noone pays tribute to Dame Ninette de Valois, a ballet icon from West Wicklow, celebrating her legacy and pioneering contributions to the arts.

Artistic Director Fiachra Garvey commented, “We are delighted to present this year’s Winter Weekend programme, which offers a rich and diverse selection of performances by outstanding musicians. The Winter Weekend is a celebration of the beauty and warmth of chamber music, set in the charming and festive atmosphere of West Wicklow.
