The Dublin Airport Coordination Committee meeting on August 27, 2024 to discuss coordination parameters for Summer 2025 rejected a rejected proposed PATM (Passenger Aircraft Takeoff/Movement) seat limit.
The same meeting voted to maintain the Summer 2024 terminal capacity parameters (Departures and Arrivals Hourly limits and Referral Parameters) for Summer 2025 but
The committee voted on three topics: runway parameters, terminal parameters, and a PATM (Passenger Aircraft Takeoff/Movement) seat limit, with a significant majority opposing the consideration of a PATM limit due to ongoing litigation regarding previous limits.
Voting occurred under protest from the two largest airlines regarding the proposed questions related to the PATM seat limit, indicating their disagreement with the process and circumstances. Ryanair also objected citing a lack of evidence for maintaining these limits.
Members voted on runway capacity increases based on two different “Wishlist” scenarios, each specifying additional movements at various hourly intervals across the day.
The committee also discussed a proposed continuation of the IAA’s PATM (Passenger Aircraft Takeoff/Movement) limit for the Summer 2025 season; however, there was strong opposition from members regarding any discussion or vote on this due to ongoing litigation concerning the PATM limit.
The majority of airlines expressed their discontent with a PATM limit, leading to a vote with results indicating 93pcpc disagreement on both questions related to the PATM seat cap, demonstrating a consensus against consideration of the IAA’s proposed limits.
Despite the overwhelming rejection of the PATM seat cap by the committee, questions about the cap were still sent forward for formal voting, which members contended was done unilaterally by daa, highlighting a disconnect between the committee’s views and the presentation of the questions for a vote
