Flyadeal plans to place its first widebody aircraft order by the end of 2024, focusing on opportunities for long-haul travel and expanding its international presence, according to CEO Steven Greenway at the Routes World 2024 conference.
The airline is currently evaluating the Airbus A330 and Boeing 787 for its fleet, having ruled out the A350 as being too large, and intends to configure the widebodies with a small premium cabin while prioritizing cabin density.
Flyadeal aims to shift its flight distribution from 80pc domestic and 20pc international to approximately 65pc domestic and 35pc international by the end of 2025, leveraging the new widebody aircraft for long-haul routes.
The low-cost carrier operates a fleet of 36 aircraft and has an order for 58 additional planes from Airbus, including A320-200Ns and A321-200Ns, with expectations to receive one aircraft per month over the next four years.
