Premier Inn, through its Irish subsidiary PI Hotels & Restaurants, has submitted plans for a 162-room hotel in Sandyford Business Park, aiming to expand its presence across Ireland with a focus on growth in tourist counties.
The proposed hotel will be a five- to eight-storey building and is expected to create around 40 permanent jobs, with construction aims set for 2027 if the planning application is approved.
The new Sandyford hotel will be powered solely by renewable energy and will feature the enhanced Premier Plus bedrooms as part of Whitbread’s sustainability goals.
In a statement in June, Whitbread increased its target for hotel rooms in Ireland from 3,800 to 5,000, responding to a high demand and undersupply of budget hotel rooms, with plans to establish hotels in key cities and tourist destinations across the country.
