Fincantieri has signed contracts with Viking for the construction of two new cruise ships, set to be delivered in 2030, each with a capacity of 998 guests and weighing 54,300 tons.

In addition to the two ships, an agreement has been made for four optional ships, with deliveries planned for 2031 and 2032.

CEO Pierroberto Folgiero highlighted that this order enhances Fincantieri’s reputation in naval engineering innovation and strengthens their long-term order book, helping to drive the cruise industry’s energy transition.

The partnership between Fincantieri and Viking dates back to 2012, with the new agreement increasing their collaboration to a total of 22 ships, including expedition vessels from Viking’s Norwegian subsidiary, Vard.
