Storm Dana on October 30 has impacted cruise operations in Valencia, leading to unprecedented flooding and disruptions in city infrastructure and transportation services.

The MSC Seaside was the first ship to visit Valencia after the storm, and, despite the conditions, the vessel’s team decided to proceed with guest disembarkation and embarkation while advising guests against venturing ashore.

MSC communicated that Valencia Airport is closed, high-speed train services to Madrid are not functioning, and other public transportation options are severely restricted, recommending that transit passengers remain onboard to enjoy the ship’s amenities.

All scheduled shore excursions have been cancelled due to road closures, and affected passengers will receive refunds in the form of onboard credit; MSC expressed its thoughts for those affected by the disaster as Valencia prepares to host multiple cruise ships in the following week.
