MSC World America undergoing final phase of construction in Saint Nazaire

MSC Cruises and Captain Dino Sagani hosted journalists at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire for a glimpse of the MSC World America currently under construction and set to begin sailing from Miami in April.

At a press briefing during the shipyard visit MSC Executive Chairman Pier Francesco Vago confirmed that the company is exploring the possibility of developing an even larger class of ships, aiming to surpass Royal Caribbean’s Icon class and continue raising industry standards.

A new outdoor family area aboard the MSC World America, the Harbour, will feature a unique 11-deck dry slide, rock wall, ropes course, and an over-water swing ride, catering specifically to the US market.

The Harbour will offer a range of all-day thrilling activities, including a water park with extreme slides, and will transform at night with live music, allowing children and teens to enjoy attractions while their parents relax.

MSC showcased a video highlighting the signature Cliffhanger, an over-water swing ride at sea, and Jaw Drop @ The Spiral, which claims to be the longest dry slide at sea. The High Trail Ropes Course and a dedicated children’s playground, The Harbour Light House, enhance the adventure offerings.

Guests can enjoy quick bites and refreshments at The Harbour Bar & Bites, with ample seating areas offering stunning sea views. The Harbour joins other family-friendly spaces on the ship and is set to debut in April 2025 at PortMiami.
