Gardaí are questioning a man in connection with a woman’s death on the Stena Nordica ferry that arrived at Rosslare Europort from Fishguard on the evening of the incident.
An emergency call was made by the ship’s captain before the ferry docked at 5.30 PM, where emergency services were prepared for arrival.
The woman’s body was discovered in a bathroom following a confrontation, and authorities are awaiting post-mortem results to clarify the cause of death.
The crime scene has been established, with gardaí currently following a clear line of inquiry and detaining one suspect without seeking additional individuals involved.
The outbound sailing was cancelled. Irish ferries accommodated the passengers due to travel.
