Viking has taken delivery of the Viking Nerthus from Meyer’s Neptun Werft shipyard in Rostock-Warnemünde, Germany.

The 168-guest Viking Nerthus will operate on the Seine River with two eight-day itineraries, including the Paris & the Heart of Normandy.

Sailings will run roundtrip from Paris from March through December, featuring stops in Giverny, Rouen, and Normandy.

The ship boasts a hybrid propulsion system with solar panels and is designed with Viking’s signature Scandinavian aesthetics, similar to its sister ships.

Viking plans to expand its fleet with 25 additional river ships by 2028 and nine new ocean ships by 2030, reinforcing its growth strategy.
