Saga has named the Spirit of the Moselle at a ceremony in Amsterdam. Louise Robinson, Editorial Director of Saga Magazine, acted as the godmother for the ship, which spans 135 meters and has a capacity for 172 guests, with four passenger decks and a range of facilities including a splash pool.

Among the 92 cabins, 73 feature French balconies and amenities such as flat-screen televisions and Bluetooth speakers. The eight-day inaugural cruise included stops in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Cologne.

The Gems of the Main River itinerary offers a seven-night sailing visit to cities like Nuremberg, Bamberg, and Würzburg.

Robinson shared “I was immensely proud to play the role of godmother and christen Saga’s elegant new river cruiser, Spirit of the Moselle, in a moving ceremony in Amsterdam last week. The following day was equally exciting with the arrival of our first guests for Spirit of the Moselle’s inaugural cruise,”
