A development at Bridge Street, Tralee, will turn Caball’s Toy Shop and Kerry Bookshop into a 24 bedroom Apart-Hotel. Demolition will take place at the rear of the building for extension and renovation. Planning permission is subject to 13 conditions and is linked to a protected structure.
A bat survey is required prior to the commencement of building works, with concerns raised about reduced light.
Kerry County Council’s planning department confirmed the project aligns with sustainable development principles. Kerry County Council shared, “The development will not seriously injure the amenities of the area.”
