HX Expeditions is launching an enhanced kayaking and camping program in Antarctica starting in October 2025, boasting a 188 percent increase in kayaking capacity. The new programme will double the number of camping spots, accommodating up to 60 guests per night while adhering to IAATO environmental guidelines.
New features for the 2025-26 season include solo traveler access, Discovery Kayaks for independent paddling, lightweight bivvy bag camping, and expanded activity offerings. All kayaking and camping bookings will be managed onboard for flexibility, with a first-come, first-served system implemented for most sailings.
Karin Strand shared “We’re not just adding more spots, we’re reimagining how guests experience Antarctica. It’s about making these once-in-a-lifetime moments available to everyone on board, while delivering them in small, intimate and responsible groups.”
The company shared “For the 2025-26 Antarctica season, all kayaking and camping bookings will be managed onboard by the expedition team, allowing for real-time flexibility based on weather conditions and guest preferences.”
