On Friday, 18 July 2025, Stage 13 of the Tour de France presents a compact yet demanding 11-kilometre individual time trial from Loudenvielle to Peyragudes, set against the rugged Pyrenean landscape. This mountain time trial, featuring an 8-kilometre climb with an average gradient of 7.8% and a punishing final kilometre at 13pc, will challenge riders to balance speed and stamina. The route passes through a handful of Pyrenean towns, each offering a glimpse of the region’s unique character and mountainous terrain.
The stage starts in Loudenvielle, a small village in the heart of the Pyrenees, known for its serene setting by the Lac de Génos-Loudenvielle, a tranquil spot popular with outdoor enthusiasts. Cyclists depart from this peaceful base, immediately facing the ascent towards Peyragudes. The route briefly touches Germ, a quiet hamlet surrounded by steep slopes, where traditional stone houses reflect the area’s rustic heritage.
From there, the riders continue their climb towards Peyragudes, a ski station above the village of Gouaux-de-Larboust. This high-altitude destination, with its modern Altiport 007 runway, offers sweeping views of the Pyrenean peaks and serves as the stage’s dramatic finish line. The short but intense course ensures Stage 13 will be a pivotal moment in the 2025 Tour de France, hopefully also for Ben Healy.
