The Michelin Guide will launch its first global Michelin Key Selection on October 8, 2025, during an event in Paris. This initiative aims to recognise exceptional hotels worldwide, following successful Key rollouts in 15 travel destinations throughout 2024 and early 2025.
The selection will be based on five universal criteria evaluated by Michelin Inspectors, with one, two, and three Keys signifying different levels of hospitality excellence. Alongside the Key Selection, four Special Awards will be introduced, including categories for Architecture & Design, Wellness, Local Gateway, and Opening of the Year.
The global reveal and award ceremony will occur at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, with over 300 industry professionals in attendance and live-streamed for a wider audience.
The Michelin Guide shared, “Travellers will be able to benefit from an integrated global hotel platform, combining these distinctions with seamless booking capabilities. We are currently in the field and will reveal the first Michelin Key selection in the first half of 2024. Each category will have one winner, to be revealed at the October 8 ceremony. The invitation-only event will bring together 300+ international hoteliers, award winners, top-tier journalists, and industry leaders and tastemakers.”
