
Minister Alan Dillon has marked the start of construction of new water sports facilities in Keel in Achill and Carrowmore in Louisburgh county Mayo which will provide year-round amenities, including hot showers and secure storage for equipment.
Key focus points include accessibility with wheelchair access and changing places facilities in both locations.
The developments aim to extend the outdoor tourism season, contributing to the local economy.
Fáilte Ireland is committed to sustainable tourism and improving visitor experiences in regional areas.
Minister Dillon shared, “These projects represent a significant investment in Mayo’s tourism infrastructure and a strong commitment to sustainable, inclusive outdoor recreation.”
Sean Carey shared, “Mayo people have a profound connection to the sea and our beaches as both resources and amenities, and these new facilities will greatly improve all beach users’ experiences and enjoyment at these stunning locations.”
