The White House announced on July 30 that Brazilian civil aircraft, including Embraer models, will be exempt from an extra 40pc tariff.
Embraer’s exports to the US will continue to incur a 10pc import duty as per the announcement from April 2. The company has 234 outstanding orders from US customers, including significant orders from American Airlines and SkyWest Airlines.
Embraer operates a production facility in Melbourne, FL, for its Phenom and Praetor series business jets. The US and EU have reached an agreement on a trade deal to exempt aerospace products from tariffs.
Embraer shared, “The news confirms the positive impact and strategic importance of Embraer’s activities for the Brazilian and US economies.”
