Newbuild Perfect Day Mexico ‘will be comparable in size to Disney’s Magic Kingdom’ – Royal Caribbean

Perfect Day Mexico will be comparable in size to Disney’s Magic Kingdom, with a footprint similar to the 105-acre theme park.

The new private destination is under development in Quintana Roo, Mexico, with an investment of $600m and a planned opening in late 2027. The destination will feature the world’s largest lazy river, Vegas-style beach parties, and family-friendly pools within different curated neighborhoods.

The development is part of Royal Caribbean’s strategy to create exclusive destinations across the Caribbean and Pacific, potentially attracting new markets from Texas, the West Coast, and the Midwest.

CEO Jason Liberty mentioned that Perfect Day aims to offer a wide range of attractions while accommodating fewer guests than the Magic Kingdom.

Jason Liberty, CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, shared “The comparison underscores the scale of the investment in the new private destination. There’s so much to do that it will be curated like we do on our ships, with different neighborhoods. We’ll be able to lessen where they spend their share of wallet on potential air travel and other travel, making it more affordable for them and potentially increasing wallet share for us.”
