Ireland visitor numbers to the USA up 2.9pc in July

Ireland visitor numbers to the USA were up 2.9pc in July to 41,814, back to 90pc of pre-pandemic levels, according to figures from the US National Travel and Tourism Office.

Overseas visitor arrivals2 totaled 3.3m in July 2025, which reached 82.9pc of pre-pandemic July 2019 volume, up from 80.4pc in June 2025. July 2025 overseas visitor arrivals decreased 3.1pc compared to July 2024.

Of the major European markets, Germany showed the biggest decrease of 14.7pc, while England and France were both flat, well behind forecasted growth of 4-6pc for the summer.

Non-US citizen aviation arrivals to the USA in July 2025 were 5.3m, down 4.9pc from the previous year. European passengers increased by 2.7pc compared to July 2024, totalling 8.7m.

The top US ports serving international locations were New York (JFK) 3.7m, Los Angeles (LAX) 2.4m, Miami (MIA) 2.3m, Newark (EWR) 1.6m,, and San Francisco (SFO) 1.6m.

Top foreign ports serving U.S. locations were London Heathrow (LHR) 1.8m, Cancun (CUN) 1.2m, Toronto (YYZ) 1.1m, Paris (CDG) 942,000, and Mexico City (MEX) 841,000..
