Dalata CEO Dermot Crowley says that the VAT rate cut to 9pc in October is deemed essential for supporting small food and beverage businesses.
Over 250,000 people are employed in the tourism industry, with 70pc of tourism activity occurring outside Dublin.
Dermot Crowley shared, “That reduction on the VAT rate is essential. If you’re a small food operator, or you’re operating a pub, it’s really difficult at the moment. We can see it by the numbers that have closed down in the past few years.”
