Plans for a new 136-bed hotel in Courtown, Wexford, have been appealed to An Coimisiún Pleanála.

Wexford County Council granted permission for the hotel, but council decisions have faced criticism for breaching local development objectives and policies. Community members are concerned about the hotel’s potential impact on the area’s amenities and its incompatibility with the character of Courtown.

Traffic congestion during the summer season is a major concern, with objections noting that the hotel may exacerbate existing issues. Tom O’Loughlin from Tyol (Bayview) Limited acknowledged the appeals and expressed hope for the project’s eventual approval while respecting community concerns.
