
The Irish Hotels Federation says that recruitment difficulties have decreased since 2021, though 52pc of businesses still struggle to hire chefs. Irish tourism supports 270,000 livelihoods, with hotels and guesthouses employing 69,000 people.
Fáilte Ireland’s 2025 research has revealed that 86pc of tourism employees view it as a long-term career, up from 71pc in 2021.
The sector generates €10bn in revenue and €2.9bn in taxes annually, with 70pc of jobs outside Dublin. Hotels offer flexible career paths in areas like food and beverage, spa management, and event planning.
