
US Transportation secretary Sean Duffy has once cagain cautioned European regulators about the negative effects of “unjustified operational restrictions” on US carriers at Dublin Airport and Amsterdam’s Schiphol.
Duffy’s comments called out Dublin and Schiphol for breaching open-skies treaties and costing US airlines millions.
Schiphol’s entrenched flight ceiling is impacting its ability to address noise pollution while hampering potential passenger growth.
The Irish government aims to remove Dublin’s 32m passenger cap by late next year, amidst concerns that it could harm the €10bn tourism sector.
