Irish visitors spent €717m in Portugal in H1 2025

Irish visitors spent €717m in Portugal from January to July 2025, making Ireland the 6th largest international market, surpassing Brazil and Italy.

Madeira saw a 62pc increase in overnight stays, Porto & North grew by 6.1pc, while the Algarve had 3.2pc more guests with shorter stays. The Azores experienced a 2.9pc drop in visitors but a 1.6pc rise in overnight stays, while Lisbon faced declines.
