Norwegian Cruise Line introduced a €4.65 fee for extra entrées in main dining rooms, effective late September on ships like Norwegian Spirit, Breakaway and Star.
Menus note one entrée per guest is included, with additional orders incurring the fee, applied fleet-wide to manage dining operations.
A €9.30 per person no-show fee applies at specialty dining venues, with reservations held for 15 minutes before cancellation, allowing cancellations two hours prior without penalty.
Royal Caribbean implemented similar policies, charging €23.25 per person for cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows, with some restaurants up to €46.50.
The changes aim to ensure dining availability, with Norwegian and Royal Caribbean encouraging guests to honour reservations to enhance cruise experiences.
Norwegian Cruise Line shared “The new fees allow more guests the opportunity to dine in our specialty restaurants by ensuring reservation availability.”
Royal Caribbean shared “Our goal is to preserve limited seats for clients eager to experience our exclusive, limited-capacity dining options.”
