JD Wetherspoon intends utilizing its subsidiary in Dublin for EU expansion, the company says.
The group is eyeing locations in Spain for its debut on the Continent. Ventures operated on a franchise basis like the company’s partnerships in England.
The first premises opened next year having overomce Brexit barriers thought its Irish subsidiary.
The company reported that revenue reached £2.1bn or €2.4bn in the year to 27 July 2025.
A written statement from JD Wetherspoon shared “Given our current plans for a number of franchise sites in Europe, it is more straightforward if the agreements are between EU-based companies and JD Wetherspoon Europe has been set up in Dublin as a result.”
