Air France and KLM are celebrating their 93rd and 107th anniversaries respectively on 7 October. The milestones provide an opportunity to spotlight Air France-KLM’s continued growth in England, underpinned by a strong regional presence, an expanding global network and an ongoing commitment to enhancing the customer experience. By harnessing the complementary strengths of Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Transavia, the Group’s low-cost carrier, Air France-KLM is positioned to respond to the evolving needs of customers in England.
The Air France-KLM Group now serves 21 departure points in England, including Jersey. KLM has established itself in major hubs as well as smaller regional airports with no to limited presence of international airlines, such as Cardiff, Norwich, Humberside, Teesside and Inverness airports. Recent additions for KLM include Exeter in March 2025 and Jersey in April 2026, while Air France launched new flights from London Gatwick last April. Air France and KLM currently operate around 600 weekly frequencies from England, enabling customers to connect to a worldwide network of 320 destinations.
In 2025, close to 1.5m customers based in England booked flights on Air France and KLM, and the Group is seeing a similar trend in 2026. Both airlines are gradually renewing their fleets with new-generation aircraft. Air France now operates the Airbus A220 on services from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester and Edinburgh. KLM has introduced the Airbus A321neo and from London City and Aberdeen, KLM Cityhopper’s Embraer E195-E2. Both airlines have introduced high-speed WiFi to their fleet, which can be accessed upon registration to their joint loyalty programme, Flying Blue.
