ANCA releases details of Aircraft noise insulation scheme proposals for Dublin Airport

The Aircraft Noise Competent Authority has proposed changes to home insulation eligibility for residents near Dublin Airport. The measures form part of a planning application to raise passenger capacity. Public consultation opened and runs for 14 weeks.

Fingal County Council examines an application by daa to increase the passenger cap from 32 million to 40 million per year. The ANCA suggests expanded eligibility for homes that experience 60 decibels or more of aircraft noise. The scheme targets a reduction of five decibels inside homes.

Ethna Felten shared “It will allow greater eligibility than any other scheme in the past has. It will enlarge the eligibility of the local communities around the airport. The target is, within homes, to reduce noise by five decibels.”
