The Local Enhancement Programme 2026 has allocated funding to over 4,100 projects. Ministers announced €7 million in capital support for community groups on 2 July 2026. Local Community Development Committees administer the grants with local authorities.

The programme targets facilities in disadvantaged areas for minor renovations equipment and IT purchases. Every county receives funding with Dublin City at €656750.42 and smaller areas such as Leitrim at €119043.40.

The initiative builds on previous community support funds.

Minister Jerry Buttimer shared “The Local Enhancement Programme is all about supporting our local groups and clubs across the country.”
