Bangkok has been declared a disaster zone after more than 24 hours of heavy rain caused widespread flooding.
More than 90 roads were affected and several canals reached critical levels. Authorities are working to drain hundreds of millions of cubic metres of water and estimate clearance could take two to three days if no further significant rain falls. Temporary shelters have opened and travellers are advised to check conditions carefully.
